Key Responsibilities

• Guest Service
  • Warmly greet guests and guide their dining experience from start to finish
  • Anticipate guest needs, provide thoughtful recommendations, and ensure satisfaction throughout the meal
  • Handle guest concerns professionally and build relationships that encourage repeat visits
• Restaurant & Table Service
  • Take accurate orders, enter modifications, and work with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery
  • Recommend appetizers, entrées, beverages, wine, and desserts based on guest preferences
  • Explain menu items, spice levels, ingredients, and dietary options
  • Run food and drinks, process payments, and complete opening, running, and closing side work
  • Maintain clean, stocked, and organized service and dining areas
• Bar Operations
  • Demonstrate basic wine and cocktail knowledge and prepare Jhoomar’s seven signature cocktails as needed
  • Check identification and follow responsible alcohol service standards
• Teamwork
  • Coordinate and communicate with the kitchen, front-of-house team, and management to ensure exceptional service
  • Assist with reservations, guest requests, and support teammates when your station is complete

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of full-service restaurant server experience
• At least 3 months of basic wine knowledge and experience
• Strong understanding of table sequencing, service pacing, and managing multiple tables
• Confidence with suggestive selling and making recommendations
• Excellent communication, organization, and guest service skills
• Professional, polished, and warm demeanor
• Dependable attendance and reliable transportation
• Ability to stand, walk, carry trays, and safely lift at least 40 pounds
• Reside in or near Columbus, GA preferred
• Ability to pass the Level 1 Server Test (memorization and demonstration of Table Flow Sequence)
• Full uniform required: long-sleeve black button-up shirt (no pockets), black dress pants, black belt, shirt tucked in, and black slip-resistant shoes

Schedule

• Part-time position: shifts available for lunch (11:00 AM–4:00 PM or 11:00 AM–2:30 PM for doubles), mid-shift (1:30 PM–close; Sundays start at 1:00 PM), and dinner (5:00 PM–close)
• Double shifts are common
• Restaurant closing times range from 9:30 PM to 10:30 PM
• Availability for agreed-upon days and times required for the first three months
• All anticipated dates needed off within the next 90 days must be disclosed before hiring
