Your Task

This position is based at the Telco Hub in Madrid, where the team pioneers the merging of IT and Telco by building and scaling Telco as a Platform (TaaP) on a proprietary layered cloud. The role operates within cross-country and cross-functional squads, delivering cutting-edge services to Europe's most valued Operator. The project focuses on operating a specialized laboratory dedicated to conducting performance and efficiency tests on various server hardware, with the main focus on tests aimed at optimizing the Private Telco Cloud using DT technology. The goal is to evaluate the performance and efficiency of the deployed hardware and to test new hardware types to validate innovative technologies.

This role involves the operation and continuous improvement of a specialized lab for performance and efficiency testing of server hardware used in the Private Telco Cloud. Tasks include planning and expanding the laboratory infrastructure, operating and maintaining the hardware, executing standardized benchmark procedures, integrating and evaluating new hardware types, and providing performance analyses to support architecture and procurement decisions.

Responsibilities

• Operation and expansion of the hardware performance laboratory
• Operation, preparation, and maintenance of server and measurement hardware
• Execution of standardized performance and efficiency benchmarks
• Integration and validation of new hardware types
• Analysis and documentation of test results to support architecture and procurement decisions

Your Profile

We are looking for a Hardware Performance Engineer with solid expertise in x86 server architectures, benchmarking methodologies, Linux systems administration, and automation scripting to operate and optimize a specialized hardware performance laboratory for Private Telco Cloud infrastructure.

Must Have Skills

• Solid understanding of x86 server architectures and datacenter hardware
• Experience with benchmarking methods and performance analysis
• Linux operating experience (RHEL, Ubuntu, SLES)
• Basic automation and scripting (e.g., Bash, Ansible)
• Ability to interpret technical results and create concise reports
• Experience with enterprise server platforms (Dell, HPE, Lenovo, Supermicro)
• Experience with benchmarking suites (SPEC, Phoronix, Stress-NG)
• Experience with management interfaces (IPMI, Redfish)
• Experience with power and efficiency measurement tools
• Experience with cloud and virtualization technologies (OpenStack, Kubernetes)

Nice to Have Skills

• Experience with GitLab
• Experience with CI/CD
• Experience with Jira
• Knowledge of Business Agility
