Job Overview

The Spot Restaurant & Lounge is seeking an experienced, dependable, and customer-focused Server to join our team. Our Servers are responsible for creating a welcoming guest experience, accurately taking and delivering orders, processing payments, maintaining clean service areas, and working closely with the kitchen, bar, and management team to keep service running smoothly.

We are looking for someone who is friendly, attentive, professional, and comfortable working in a fast-paced restaurant and lounge environment.

Compensation

Starting at $3.00/hour + tips. Total earnings vary based on tips earned and business volume.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests promptly and provide friendly, attentive service.
• Accurately take food and beverage orders and enter them into the POS system.
• Serve food, cocktails, and other beverages in a timely and professional manner.
• Maintain knowledge of menu items, ingredients, sides, cocktails, drink specials, and daily specials.
• Answer guest questions and make recommendations when appropriate.
• Communicate clearly with kitchen and bar staff regarding guest orders, modifications, and service needs.
• Monitor assigned tables and respond promptly to guest requests.
• Prepare and present accurate guest checks.
• Process cash, credit card, and other payments accurately.
• Maintain responsibility for assigned register transactions and cash handling.
• Assist with bussing, resetting, and maintaining tables as needed.
• Keep server stations, dining areas, menus, and other service areas clean, sanitized, stocked, and organized.
• Complete assigned opening, running, and closing side work.
• Work cooperatively with other Servers, Bartenders, Cooks, and management to provide efficient service.
• Communicate with the Manager on Duty at the beginning of the shift regarding specials, unavailable items, reservations, events, or other important shift information.
• Follow food safety, alcohol service, sanitation, cash-handling, and workplace safety procedures.
• Maintain professional and respectful conduct when interacting with guests, coworkers, and management.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of serving experience, preferably in a fast-paced restaurant, bar, or lounge environment.
• Must be at least 21 years of age due to the nature of the establishment and alcohol service responsibilities.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to accurately handle guest orders and payments.
• Working knowledge of food and beverage service standards.
• Ability to multitask and remain organized during high-volume service periods.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Dependable attendance and punctuality.
• Availability to work evenings, weekends, and closing shifts as required.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
• Must maintain a clean, neat, and professional appearance with appropriate personal hygiene.

Footwear & Safety

Closed-toe shoes are required. Slip-resistant footwear is strongly recommended due to the restaurant environment.
