Server Supervisor Candidate (full-time / weekends / mostly nights)

We’re Hiring: Server SV (Full-Time) at Tetsumen – Hilo

Tetsumen is looking for a friendly, dependable server with supervising experience, to join our team. If you love Japanese food and can work efficiently in a fast-paced setting, this might be the perfect fit!

Pay & Perks:

• Training + Trial of 1-2 months: $16.00/hour + tips (range $9–$20/hr depends on season/day)
• Server Supervisor: $18 + tips (range $9–$20/hr depends on season/day; with performance-based raises)

Schedule:

• Full-time: 5 days per week
• Must be able to work Saturday day or night and Sunday day or night regularly.
• Must be able to work mix of day and night shifts (mainly night)

What You’ll Do:

• Provide great customer service: greet, take orders, serve, and bus tables
• Keep the dining area clean and welcoming
• Operate the POS system accurately (dine-in and takeout)
• Handle cash and process payments
• Opening and Closing tasks
• Dishwashing
• Overseeing FOH operations and service flow during assigned shifts.
• Train and coach new and existing FOH staff according to restaurant procedures and service standards.
• Communicate staff, customer, or operational issues to management

What We're Looking For:

• +2 years of experience handling money (register, counting cash, etc.)
• +4 years of overall Server experience.
• +2 years of Server Lead or Supervisor experience.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and your own vehicle.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Punctual and clear communicator.
• Friendly, responsible, and committed to professional service.
• Passion for Japanese food and culture.

Bonus if you have:

• Food Handler’s Certificate
• Liquor License

⚠Notes:

• Facial piercings and large ear gauges are not allowed per our dress code.
• Final hiring decision comes after a 1-2 months training + tryout period ( Either party may end the trail early if it is not a good fit).
• If you do not meet the expectations of the supervisor role, we may offer you the opportunity to continue working as a regular server.
• Bring a note with your availability and 1–3 references to the interview.
