Hosts and bussers help create a welcoming, efficient, and clean dining experience. Both roles work closely with servers, managers, kitchen staff, and one another to deliver attentive guest service and support smooth restaurant operations.

HostPosition Summary

The Host is the first and last point of contact for many guests. This role welcomes guests, manages seating and wait times, answers questions, and helps coordinate the flow of the dining room with professionalism and hospitality.

Key Responsibilities

· Greet every guest promptly and courteously.

· Manage reservations, walk-in guests, waitlists, and table assignments.

· Provide accurate wait-time estimates and keep waiting guests informed.

· Seat guests according to the floor plan, server rotation, table availability, and accessibility needs.

· Answer phone calls and respond to questions about hours, menus, reservations, and restaurant policies.

· Maintain a clean, organized, and presentable entrance, host stand, and waiting area.

· Communicate guest needs, large parties, special occasions, and seating updates to servers and managers.

· Assist with takeout orders or other front-of-house duties as assigned.

· Thank departing guests and invite them to return.

· Follow all food-safety, sanitation, cash-handling, and workplace-safety procedures that apply to the role.

Qualifications

· Friendly, professional, and guest-focused demeanor.

· Clear verbal communication and active-listening skills.

· Ability to stay organized and calm in a fast-paced environment.

· Basic math, phone, and point-of-sale or reservation-system skills.

· Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

· Prior restaurant or customer-service experience is preferred but not required.

BusserPosition Summary

The Busser supports the service team by keeping tables and dining areas clean, stocked, and ready for guests. This role clears and resets tables efficiently, assists servers, and helps maintain a safe and welcoming restaurant environment.

Key Responsibilities

· Clear dishes, glassware, utensils, and waste from tables promptly and safely.

· Clean, sanitize, and reset tables according to restaurant standards.

· Keep dining rooms, service stations, walkways, and guest areas clean and organized.

· Refill water, deliver requested items, and assist guests when appropriate.

· Restock napkins, utensils, glassware, condiments, and other service supplies.

· Transport used dishes and glassware to designated dishwashing areas.

· Support servers and hosts with table readiness, large parties, and busy service periods.

· Respond quickly to spills and safety hazards and notify a manager when needed.

· Handle cleaning products, food-contact surfaces, and waste according to sanitation and safety procedures.

· Complete opening, closing, and side-work assignments as directed.

Qualifications

· Dependable, hardworking, and attentive to detail.

· Ability to work quickly while maintaining cleanliness and safety.

· Strong teamwork and communication skills.

· Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and frequently bend, reach, lift, and carry items required for dining-room service, with reasonable accommodation where applicable.

· Availability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

· Prior restaurant experience is helpful but not required.
