Pay and benefits
- Base pay: $12.15 per hour, plus tips. Tips vary by shift, guest volume, and hours worked and are not guaranteed. JING pays any additional wages necessary to meet applicable minimum-wage requirements. Overtime is paid as required by law.
- Health, dental, and vision insurance for eligible employees, subject to plan terms.
- Employee dining discounts, subject to company policy.
- Paid sick time in accordance with Arizona law.
- Food, cocktail, wine, sake, and menu education.
- Consideration for future trainer, lead server, and restaurant management opportunities based on performance, available positions, and business needs.
What you’ll do
- Provide attentive food and beverage service, guiding guests from their initial greeting through the completion of their meal.
- Develop strong knowledge of our menus, ingredients, preparation methods, and specials, and make recommendations tailored to guests’ preferences.
- Accurately take and enter orders, communicate modifications, and relay allergy or dietary concerns to the kitchen and management.
- Coordinate meal timing and coursing with the kitchen, bar, and support team while following service and presentation standards.
- Monitor your section, anticipate guest needs, and respond promptly to requests or concerns.
- Accurately process payments and follow cash-handling procedures.
- Maintain clean, organized tables and service stations, and complete preparation, stocking, and opening and closing duties.
- Follow responsible alcohol-service practices, verify identification, monitor for signs of intoxication, and involve management when needed.
- Maintain food-safety and sanitation standards and communicate clearly with hosts, bartenders, support staff, kitchen staff, and management.
What we’re looking for
- Previous serving experience in a high-volume, full-service restaurant is required.
- Experience in an upscale steakhouse, seafood restaurant, or comparable restaurant with strong service standards is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of restaurant service, meal pacing, and food and beverage recommendations. Familiarity with wine, cocktails, and sake is a plus.
- Ability to manage multiple tables efficiently while delivering attentive, personalized service.
- Warm, confident communication, sound judgment, and composure during busy service.
- Reliable attendance, strong organization, professional conduct, and a willingness to support teammates.
- Receptiveness to coaching and commitment to consistent service standards.
