Server/Barista

Job Purpose

To deliver an exceptional guest experience by preparing and serving high-quality beverages, providing attentive food and beverage service, and maintaining the highest standards of quality, hygiene, and hospitality in accordance with CAARA’s service standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Welcome guests warmly, assist with seating, present menus, and provide recommendations on food and beverages.
• Prepare and serve coffee, espresso-based beverages, teas, and other drinks as per standard recipes and presentation guidelines.
• Take accurate food and beverage orders and coordinate with the kitchen, bar, and service teams for timely delivery.
• Operate and maintain coffee machines, grinders, blenders, and other beverage equipment as required.
• Ensure consistent beverage quality, portioning, presentation, and service standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and readiness of tables, service stations, coffee counters, workstations, and equipment.
• Monitor guest requirements throughout the dining experience and respond promptly and professionally.
• Promote menu items, beverages, and add-ons to enhance guest satisfaction and support outlet sales.
• Monitor beverage and service inventory, replenish supplies, and follow proper storage and FIFO practices.
• Follow food safety, personal hygiene, grooming, and uniform standards at all times.
• Handle guest feedback and concerns professionally and escalate issues to the reporting manager when required.
• Assist with billing and payment procedures where assigned, ensuring accuracy and adherence to company policies.
• Complete opening, closing, and daily operational checklists as required.
• Coordinate effectively with colleagues to ensure smooth restaurant operations, particularly during peak service hours.
• Follow company policies, standard operating procedures, and instructions from the reporting manager.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Previous experience in barista, café, restaurant, or food and beverage service roles is preferred; freshers with a willingness to learn may also apply.
• Basic knowledge of coffee preparation, espresso-based beverages, and beverage equipment is an advantage.
• Good communication, interpersonal, and guest-handling skills.
• Pleasant personality, professional grooming, and a positive, guest-focused attitude.
• Strong teamwork, attention to detail, and time-management skills.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
• Flexibility to work in shifts, including weekends and holidays, as per operational requirements.
