Position: Server with Bartending Experience

Location: Norfolk, VA

Job Type: Part-time, Full-time

Summary:

Just Birdies is seeking enthusiastic and customer-focused individuals to join our team as server with bartending experience. Our servers play a crucial role in ensuring every guest has an exceptional experience, from the moment they arrive to the time they leave. Beyond taking and delivering food and beverage orders accurately and promptly, servers assist with simulator setup and provide outstanding service throughout each guest’s visit.

Responsibilities:

• Welcome guests warmly upon arrival and ensure they feel valued throughout their visit.
• Drink Preparation: Craft classic cocktails, mix drinks, pour beers, and decant wines accurately according to established recipes.
• Guest Service: Greet patrons, take food and drink orders, offer recommendations, and provide an inviting atmosphere.
• Compliance & Safety: Verify customer identification (IDs) to ensure legal drinking age and monitor consumption to prevent intoxication.
• Cash & POS Operations: Process payments via cash, credit cards, or mobile systems, balance registers, and manage open tabs.
• Bar Maintenance: Restock ice, glassware, spirits, and garnishes while keeping surfaces, tools, and glasswashers clean.
• Inventory Management: Track stock levels, log usage, and submit supply or product orders to managers
• Assist guests in setting up and using simulators, providing clear instructions and ensuring they have a seamless experience.
• Maintain a clean and organized environment in the bay areas, including clearing tables and handling equipment as needed.
• Collaborate with kitchen and service staff to ensure timely and accurate delivery of orders.
• Proactively address guest concerns and ensure their needs are met promptly and courteously.
• Develop a thorough knowledge of our food and beverage offerings to make informed recommendations and enhance guest satisfaction.
• Work as part of a team to create a positive and memorable experience for every guest.

Qualifications:

• Knowledge of TOAST POS is a plus.
• Exceptional customer service skills with a friendly and outgoing personality.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of food safety standards preferred.
• Previous experience in hospitality or customer service is a plus.
• Must be at least 18 years old.

Additional Requirements:

• Availability to work morning, days, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds.
