Job Summary
Are you looking for something different than the average restaurant? A place set in a sprawling farm that grows much of its own produce and focuses on sustainability and creating a truly authentic experience? A place to grow as well as learn and to be a part of a small, close-knit team? If so, maybe our Field Kitchen Server/Bartender position is just what you’re looking for.
Bodhi Farms is a 35 acre sustainable boutique eco resort destination just outside of Bozeman. In fact we are the only resort in Bozeman. Our epic and unique farm is situated alongside Cottonwood Creek and surrounded by over 6 acres of gardens and permaculture edible forests. We are currently looking for a great Backyard Server/Bartender. Applicants should have experience in front of house food & beverage service, and a passion for hospitality and sustainability. This important team member will primarily be responsible for operating the bar, register and supporting the kitchen exposition, but our team all works together and no one is above taking orders, running food, bussing tables, or washing dishes. Your ultimate goal is to create a consistent and excellent customer experience.
Job Expectations
Reporting directly to the Food & Beverage Manager, the Server/Bartender is a diverse position that is responsible for creating a great guest experience in our food & beverage offerings. Part time shifts can include mornings and nights, including weekends and holidays, defined by the anticipated volume needs. A typical workweek’s hours will vary seasonally with periods of extremely heavy business in summer and fall. We are currently looking for weekend availability with Thursday-Saturday dinner services. You must portray professionalism at all times and you must have the ability to maintain your composure during high-pressure situations resulting from business levels and time constraints.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following duties;
- Creating an amazing guest experience, first and foremost.
- Adhering to the operating ‘bible’ and its opening and closing checklists.
- Notifying the FOH Manager when supplies are low or empty.
- Knowing how to operate our point of sale program, record guest orders and check guests in/out smoothly.
- Welcoming guests and escorting guests to their tables with menus and water.
- Delivering food to guests and ensuring their needs are always met.
- Bussing dirty dishes in a timely manner.
- Washing bar glasses.
- Helping the kitchen with dishes when possible.
Skills Required
- Exercise integrity in all areas of the restaurant operation.
- Loving to interact with people.
- Handle evening, weekend and holiday responsibilities.
- Take personal accountability in getting the job done.
- Function in a purposeful and professional manner in situations of uncertainty with the demonstrated ability to maintain focus on key priorities and goals.
- Effective problem solving and risk mitigation by offering solutions to address guest concerns.
Physical Requirements. We are an outdoor business and this has its physical requirements. If you’re looking for a desk job, you’re in the wrong place.
- Withstanding temperatures of 0 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Moving constantly for extended periods of time (up to 10-12 hours a day).
- Lifting and carrying items weighing up to 75 lbs. for distances of up to 25 ft.
Qualifications
- Service experience in a fine dining restaurant or hotel environment.
- Proven guest services work experience.
What to Expect from Your Work Experience
- Busy summers and slower winters.
- Be part of an awesome team that works hard together to amaze our guests.
- Have the ability to demonstrate your unique personality & professional passion.
- Continually being challenged with projects and opportunities.
- Spending your time in a truly amazing and authentic place.
Compensation & Benefits. You will be offered the following benefits:
- This is a part time hourly position turning full time in the spring/summer.
- Participation in Tip Pool (historically ranging from $10 - $30 per hour)
- Being an early team member in an exciting start up with huge growth potential
