Server/Cashier

Table 313 is a locally owned, family-operated restaurant in Midtown Detroit, serving a diverse menu in a welcoming and relaxed environment.

We are looking for an energetic, dependable, and personable Server/Cashier to join our team. This is an hourly paid position PLUS tips, giving team members the opportunity to increase their overall earnings while providing exceptional service.

The ideal candidate is friendly, attentive, clean, organized, dependable, and willing to help wherever needed. Cleaning is an important part of this position, and all Server/Cashiers are expected to help maintain a clean, comfortable, and inviting restaurant.

Compensation

Hourly Wage + Tips

This position includes a guaranteed hourly wage plus eligible tips earned during your shifts. Your total earnings will consist of your hourly base pay + tips.

Responsibilities

• Warmly greet and welcome every guest.
• Provide friendly, attentive, and professional service from arrival through departure.
• Take accurate dine-in, carryout, and delivery orders using our POS system.
• Explain menu items, answer questions, and make helpful recommendations.
• Process cash, credit/debit card, and other payments accurately.
• Suggest additional menu items, beverages, desserts, sides, and upgrades when appropriate.
• Deliver food promptly and verify orders for accuracy and presentation.
• Check back with guests to ensure they are satisfied with their food and experience.
• Address guest concerns professionally and involve management when necessary.
• Help create memorable experiences that lead to repeat customers and 5-star Google reviews.
• Bus, clean, sanitize, and reset tables throughout the shift.
• Sweep and mop dining and service areas as assigned.
• Clean and maintain guest restrooms throughout the shift.
• Keep cashier, beverage, condiment, and service stations clean and organized.
• Complete assigned opening, running, and closing cleaning duties.
• Restock cups, napkins, utensils, condiments, carryout supplies, and other service items.
• Assist with dishes, food running, packaging carryout/delivery orders, and light food preparation when needed.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, handwashing, and personal hygiene standards.
• Work together as a team and help wherever needed to keep the restaurant running smoothly.

What We're Looking For

• Previous restaurant, cashier, serving, or customer-service experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right person.
• Friendly, welcoming, and positive personality.
• Strong communication and guest-service skills.
• Dependable and punctual.
• Ability to multitask and stay organized during busy periods.
• Comfortable handling money and basic calculations.
• Willingness to clean and maintain high sanitation standards.
• Ability to work independently without constant supervision.
• Team-oriented attitude and willingness to assist coworkers.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform normal restaurant duties, including bending, lifting, cleaning, and carrying food/trays.
• Flexible availability, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and late-night shifts depending on business needs.
