Server/Catering Assistant

Spitting Image Catering is looking for motivated & professional waiters / catering staff.

We are based in Blackburn North close to all public transport and free carparking is available on site.

The role is Casual and we can offer between 5-20 hours per week depending on your availability & preferences.

We have events on 7 days of the week so the roster can suit your availability. The busiest time for shifts is Fridays and Saturdays - both lunches and dinners

We welcome staff of all ages & cultural diversity.

Experience in hospitality is preferred but not essential for the right candidate who is willing to learn new skills in hospitality.

You are required to meet at our kitchen in Blackburn North and travel to each event as a passenger with our chef in our new catering vans.

Your main role as a catering waiter / assistant is : -

* Assist with the set up and pack down at each catering event.

* Help our chef manage the buffet and replenish food as required.

* Collect plates and cutlery from guests after their meal.

* Some events require canape service to guests at cocktail parties.

* Assist with loading the vans at our kitchen and unload the food & equipment at events

* Tidy up and light cleaning tasks using our conveyer belt dishwasher.

* Barwork is also available if you have an RSA.

The role also includes various tasks including sorting cutlery for each event and light food prep if you are interested.

We are a small family owned business and we offer training for our new team members.

You must be enthusiastic, reliable, well presented & have great communication skills.

You will travel to events all over Melbourne and sometimes country Victoria as well so if you love a challenge and something different each time you come to work, then this job is for you !

Another bonus is complimentary lunch and dinner & you are paid to travel to and from each event as a passenger in our van.
