Poutineville Downtown is looking for a reliable and friendly full-time server to join our team in downtown Montreal.

Day and evening shifts are available.

Schedule & Availability

• Approximately 5 shifts per week
• Day shifts generally start at 10:30 AM
• Evening shifts generally start at 4:30 PM
• Weekday and weekend shifts available
• Strong weekday daytime availability is preferred
• Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday daytime availability is an asset

Salary: $13.3/hour + tips
Age: 18+

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and provide friendly, efficient service
• Take food and beverage orders accurately
• Serve food and drinks in a timely manner
• Answer questions about menu items
• Process cash and card payments accurately
• Maintain clean tables and service areas
• Assist with opening and closing duties
• Work closely with kitchen staff to ensure smooth service

Requirements

• Previous serving or customer-service experience preferred
• Friendly, reliable, and comfortable interacting with customers
• Able to multitask and work efficiently
• Good communication and organizational skills
• Reliable and punctual
• Looking for full-time hours
• Flexible weekday and weekend availability preferred

Duties

• Greet guests warmly and provide attentive, personalized service throughout their dining experience
• Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS (Point of Sale) systems such as Micros POS, ensuring clear communication with kitchen staff
• Serve food and drinks promptly while maintaining high standards of food handling and sanitation
• Upsell menu items to enhance guest satisfaction and increase sales opportunities
• Handle cash transactions accurately, including cash handling and cashiering responsibilities
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in dining areas, including proper food safety practices and food preparation procedures
• Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of orders and resolve any guest concerns efficiently

Qualifications

• Previous food service or restaurant experience is preferred but not required; enthusiasm and a positive attitude are essential
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage guests professionally and courteously
• Knowledge of POS systems, especially Micros POS, is a plus but training will be provided
• Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tables efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Basic math skills for cash handling, billing, and order accuracy
• Understanding of food safety, sanitation, and proper food handling procedures
• Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
• Kitchen experience or familiarity with food industry standards is advantageous but not mandatory
