Duties

• Greet guests warmly upon arrival and provide attentive seating arrangements, including managing reservations through platforms like Tock.
• Take accurate orders using Toast POS system ensuring all special requests and dietary needs are clearly communicated to the kitchen.
• Serve food and beverages efficiently while maintaining high standards of presentation and cleanliness.
• Upsell menu items and beverages to enhance guest satisfaction and increase sales opportunities.
• Maintain thorough knowledge of the menu, including ingredients, preparation methods, and wine or beverage pairings to assist guests effectively.
• Ensure food safety and sanitation standards are upheld by following proper food handling procedures during service and food preparation.
• Clear tables promptly after guests leave, bussing as needed to keep the dining area tidy.
• Handle cash transactions accurately, including cash handling and cashiering responsibilities, while balancing registers at shift end.
• Assist with opening or closing duties such as setting up stations or cleaning work areas in compliance with sanitation regulations.
• Foster positive guest relations by providing prompt, friendly service that exceeds expectations.
• Collaborate seamlessly with kitchen staff, host/host team, and management to ensure smooth operations throughout each shift.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in food service or restaurant environments is highly preferred.
• Proficiency with POS systems such as Toast is a plus.
• Strong customer service skills with a friendly, energetic demeanor that creates memorable guest experiences.
• Ability to manage time effectively during busy service periods while maintaining attention to detail.
• Knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation practices, and proper food handling procedures.
• Experience with upselling techniques to maximize sales opportunities without compromising guest satisfaction.
• Basic math skills for accurate cash handling and bill splitting.
• Excellent communication skills for coordinating with team members and engaging with guests confidently.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, or holidays as required by restaurant hours of operation.
