Server/Waitress

Malvern Retreat House is a faith-based organization that provides retreats, programs and events. Meal service is based on the day and time of the retreats, etc. Malvern Retreat House is looking for daytime food servers for our two dining halls. This would mainly include breakfast and lunch service with the option to work dinner and weekend meals. Meals are based on a preset menu and served family style.

Duties/Tasks

• Responsible for the setting of tables, serving of meals, clearing and resetting tables and serving area.
• Respond to questions regarding food service as appropriate.
• Serves the food to retreatants and guests using the proper rules of food etiquette.
• Assist in the carrying of supplies and equipment, assist in the preparation and storage of foods.
• Assist in the cleaning and sanitizing of workstations and equipment and follow all Malvern, local, state and professional regulatory rules, procedures and policies.
• Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Skills and Knowledge:

• Position requires standing for long hours, speaking and hearing and the ability to care up to 30 pounds.
• Ability to follow standard regulations for the use of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
• Knowledge of dish/pot washer is a plus.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in the hospitality industry is welcome but not required
• Strong guest relations skills with a focus on providing exceptional service
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $12.00 per hour
