Server/Wine Sales

At Cape Bottle Room, we believe that wine is a driver of community and conversation. We will bring South Africa to San Antonio and change the conversation, all while expanding our community through wine.

As a server at Cape Bottle Room, you will act as an ambassador to the company’s wines and our expectations for hospitality. We will give you the necessary tools to learn the country’s history, wine and culture, and we hope that in return you serve our guests with passion and professionalism. Strong wine knowledge and a background of hospitality is preferred but not required. However, teamwork, integrity and a learning mindset are required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provides exceptional hospitality and attentive, friendly service to all guests
• Upholds our standards for hospitality, professionalism and teamwork.
• Learns the wines of South Africa and acts as an ambassador of our program
• Keeps a clean work environment
• Completes all opening, running and closing duties
• Handles payment transactions
• Works with urgency and integrity

Qualifications:

• A learning mindset
• The ability to work within a team and to progress the team’s goals
• TABC and TX Food Handler’s Certifications
• Fluent in English
• Strong communication skills, particularly in listening and empathy
• Ability to work evenings and weekends
• Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs and be on your feet for extended periods
• A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a and service and hospitality-forward position – i.e. server, bartender, concierge, host, etc.

Cape Bottle Room defines full time employment as working 32 hours or more per week.

Part time employment would be anything under 32 hours per week.

Pay: $23.32 - $35.09 per hour

Expected hours: 10.0 – 30.0 per week
