Our workshop is busy and growing, and we are looking for a Service Advisor to run the front of house. You are the voice of the business, the link between our customers and our technicians, and the person who keeps the workshop diary running smoothly.

Key responsibilities

Manage phone calls, book customers in and manage the workshop diary to keep the ramps working efficiently. Meet and greet customers, take clear descriptions of faults and raise accurate job cards. Act as the link between customers and technicians, explaining technical findings in plain English with assistance from the technicians if required. Assist our Parts Manager prepare quotes and estimates and obtain authorisation before any work proceeds. Keep customers updated on progress and manage handover and collection. Present advisory work found on vehicle health checks honestly, with clear priorities on what is urgent and what can wait. Handle invoicing, payments and warranty paperwork, and keep customer records accurate using our filing system.

Essential requirements

Experience in a service advisor, front of house or customer-facing motor trade role. A confident, clear communicator on the phone, by email and in person. Well organised and calm managing a busy diary. Comfortable with garage management (Techman) or booking software. A good working knowledge of vehicles and common repairs but not essential, candidates with prior VW-Group experience are preferable and will be paid higher tier according to their experience. Full UK driving licence.

Nice to have

VW Group experience. Parts ordering and VIN lookups. A track record of converting advisory work into booked jobs. Main dealer or independent specialist service department background.

Up to 34 Days of Annual leave per Annum

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent. Based in our Stirchley, Birmingham workshop, in person. No agencies please.

Pay: £34,000.00-£42,000.00 per year
