Service Advisor

About the role

Work is typically performed in an automotive dealership or repair shop. The role involves frequent interaction with customers and technicians, welcoming customers, discussing vehicle concerns and service requirements, inspecting vehicles, preparing repair orders, and managing service appointments and workflow.

Key responsibilities

• Welcome customers and discuss vehicle concerns and service requirements
• Inspect vehicles and document customer concerns accurately
• Prepare repair orders and explain recommended services
• Provide accurate cost estimates and obtain customer approval before repairs
• Schedule service appointments and manage workflow
• Communicate with technicians regarding repair progress and additional service needs
• Keep customers updated on repair status and completion times
• Process payments and explain invoices upon service completion
• Handle customer complaints professionally and resolve issues promptly
• Maintain accurate customer and service records

About you

• High school diploma or equivalent (Associate's degree is a plus)
• Previous experience in automotive customer service or as a Service Advisor preferred
• Knowledge of automotive systems, maintenance, and repair procedures
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Proficiency with computer systems and service management software
• Valid driver's license may be required
