Central Diesel Services (CDS) is a trusted authorised dealer for Mercedes-Benz, Fuso and Freightliner - three of the most respected names in heavy commercial transport. We’re proud to support New Zealand’s transport industry with expert servicing, genuine parts, and a team that genuinely knows trucks. We have a service network across the Waikato and Bay of Plenty across 5 locations. Our workshop is busy, our reputation is strong, and we’re looking for someone equally capable to join us as a Service Advisor.

The Role

This is a customer-facing, fast-paced role at the heart of our service operation. You’ll be the key link between our customers and our workshop team - managing bookings, communicating repair progress, preparing quotes, and making sure every customer leaves satisfied.

Day to day you’ll be:

• Greeting customers and identifying their vehicle service and repair needs
• Preparing job cards and work orders accurately
• Liaising with workshop foreman to understand vehicle status and timelines
• Keeping customers informed at every stage of the repair process
• Providing quotes and following up on authorisations
• Coordinating workshop scheduling to maximise efficiency
• Handling invoicing and final invoicing with attention to detail
• Building long-term relationships with fleet operators and owner-drivers

About You

You don’t need to be a mechanic, but you do need to understand trucks. The ideal candidate will have:

• Experience in a service advisor, service writer, or workshop coordinator role - ideally in heavy commercial vehicles, automotive, or diesel
• Strong communication skills - you’re clear, professional, and people trust you
• The ability to stay calm and organised when the workshop is running hot
• A genuine customer-first attitude
• Computer literacy and comfort with workshop management systems

Experience with Mercedes-Benz, Fuso, Freightliner, or similar commercial brands is a real advantage.
