Service Advisor/Writer

Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and customer-focused Service Advisor/Writer to join our automotive service team. In this energetic role, you will serve as the vital link between our customers and the service technicians, ensuring a seamless experience from vehicle drop-off to pick-up. Your expertise in automotive diagnostics, mechanical knowledge, and excellent client communication skills will drive customer satisfaction and loyalty. You will be responsible for accurately assessing vehicle needs, preparing detailed estimates using estimating software, and upselling additional services to maximize customer value. Duties

• Greet customers warmly and professionally, establishing trust and rapport to ensure a positive service experience
• Conduct thorough vehicle inspections, utilizing automotive diagnostics and mechanical expertise to identify needed repairs or maintenance
• Prepare detailed repair estimates with computer-aided vehicle damage estimating software, clearly explaining recommended services to customers
• Communicate effectively with clients about vehicle condition, repair options, costs, and timelines while emphasizing upselling opportunities for additional services such as oil changes, tire rotations, brake repairs, alignments, suspension work, shocks & struts, air brake systems, transmissions, and more
• Coordinate with service technicians to prioritize repairs and ensure timely completion of work
• Manage cash handling accurately during payment transactions and process invoices efficiently
• Follow up with customers post-service to ensure satisfaction and promote ongoing maintenance or repair needs

Experience

• Proven dealership or automotive service center experience as a Service Advisor or Service Writer is highly preferred
• Strong mechanical knowledge of automotive systems including engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension, tires, and collision repair processes
• Experience with estimating software used in auto repair shops is essential
• Demonstrated ability in upselling services while maintaining excellent customer service standards
• Familiarity with automotive diagnostics tools and techniques for accurate assessments
• Prior experience in auto service management or working closely with service technicians is advantageous
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record is required to facilitate vehicle test drives when necessary
• Camera experience for live streams and educational insights

Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
