Service Assistant

Job Summary

Sloan Appliance Service Inc. is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented, and service-focused Appliance Service Assistant to support residential appliance repair and maintenance operations. This role assists service technicians with appliance inspections, basic troubleshooting, repair preparation, tools and parts organization, service calls, and professional customer assistance.

Responsibilities

• Assist technicians with inspecting household appliances for service and repair needs.
• Support basic troubleshooting and appliance diagnostics as directed.
• Assist with appliance repairs, maintenance, installations, and service calls.
• Prepare tools, replacement parts, equipment, and materials for scheduled jobs.
• Safely use basic hand tools and service equipment according to instructions.
• Assist with removing, replacing, and installing appliance components.
• Follow repair procedures, manufacturer guidelines, and workplace safety standards.
• Help test appliances after service to support proper operation.
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas.
• Handle tools, parts, equipment, and customer property carefully and professionally.
• Assist with loading, unloading, and organizing service equipment and materials.
• Communicate parts, equipment, and service needs to technicians or supervisors.
• Document completed service tasks and report repair-related information accurately.
• Provide courteous and professional assistance to customers during residential service visits.
• Help maintain organized inventory of tools, replacement parts, and service supplies.
• Keep service vehicles, tools, and equipment organized when assigned.
• Report equipment issues, maintenance needs, or safety concerns promptly.
• Assist with preparing work areas before service and cleaning them afterward.
• Support technicians with general service and repair tasks as directed.
• Perform other appliance service and support duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Previous appliance repair, maintenance, mechanical, electrical, technical, or service experience is preferred but not required.
• Basic familiarity with hand tools and service equipment is helpful.
• Willingness to learn appliance service, repair, and troubleshooting procedures.
• Dependable, detail-oriented, and responsible work habits.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to follow technical instructions, safety procedures, and manufacturer guidelines.
• Comfortable working independently and as part of a service team.

Pay: $20.39 - $21.74 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
