Service Assistant

Job Summary

Blue Bench Brunchette is seeking a friendly, dependable, and service-oriented Breakfast Service Assistant to support daily breakfast and brunch operations. This role involves assisting guests, supporting food and beverage service, preparing dining areas, restocking supplies, and maintaining a clean and welcoming environment for customers.

Responsibilities

• Welcome guests and provide courteous, professional assistance.
• Help guests with seating, menus, and general restaurant questions.
• Assist servers with taking orders and communicating special requests.
• Support the preparation, plating, and delivery of breakfast and brunch items as needed.
• Serve food and beverages promptly and courteously.
• Check orders for accuracy and proper presentation before delivery.
• Respond to guest requests and communicate concerns to the appropriate team members.
• Clear and reset tables between guests.
• Maintain clean and organized dining areas, counters, and service stations.
• Restock utensils, napkins, condiments, beverages, and other service supplies.
• Assist with dishwashing and routine cleaning tasks when needed.
• Support kitchen and front-of-house staff during busy service periods.
• Follow food handling, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures.
• Communicate supply shortages, equipment concerns, and service issues to supervisors.
• Assist with opening, closing, and daily restaurant preparation.
• Work cooperatively with team members to maintain efficient service.
• Perform other breakfast service and support duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Previous restaurant, café, breakfast service, or customer service experience is preferred but not required.
• Friendly, professional, and customer-focused attitude.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and organization.
• Willingness to learn menu items and restaurant service procedures.
• Ability to maintain cleanliness and follow food safety guidelines.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Ability to stand, walk, and perform hands-on service tasks throughout a shift.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced breakfast and brunch environment.

Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
