Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Service Billing Specialist to join our finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the billing processes related to our service offerings, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with accounting standards. Your expertise will help streamline billing operations, support client relationships, and maintain the integrity of financial data across multiple systems as well as assist with scheduling of service calls. Responsibilities

• Prepare and process service invoices using billing software and accounting systems.
• Reconcile accounts receivable and accounts payable transactions to ensure accurate financial records.
• Manage collections accounts by following up on overdue payments and resolving billing discrepancies promptly.
• Perform data entry tasks with high accuracy, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and maintaining detailed spreadsheets for analysis.
• Collaborate with clients and internal teams to clarify billing issues, provide updates, and ensure timely resolution of inquiries.
• Support compliance with financial regulations such as SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) and GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).

Skills

• Strong knowledge of accounting concepts including debits & credits, double entry bookkeeping, journal entries, and account reconciliation.
• Proficiency in financial software and other billing or accounting systems.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel for data analysis and spreadsheet management.
• Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills for managing multiple accounts simultaneously.
• Effective communication skills for client interaction and internal collaboration.
• Ability to interpret financial data accurately while maintaining high standards of phone etiquette and customer service.
