Service Centre Manager

Wakefield Metals Ltd is a leading New Zealand supplier of non-ferrous metals and stainless steels. With over 80 years of successful operation, we’ve built a reputation for reliability, expertise, and strong long-term relationships across New Zealand industry.

We’re now looking for an experienced and driven Service Centre Manager to lead our Wellington Service Centre and take both performance and people to the next level.

About the Role

This is a hands-on leadership role where commercial focus and people leadership go hand in hand. You’ll be responsible for driving B2B sales performance, leading a small, close-knit team, and ensuring our customers continue to receive outstanding service.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading and developing a small, high-performing service centre team
• Driving B2B sales growth and strengthening customer relationships
• Managing day-to-day operations of the Wellington Service Centre
• Identifying new opportunities and executing sales strategies
• Ensuring a strong culture of safety, accountability, and teamwork

About You

You’re commercially savvy, results-focused, and thrive on ownership and accountability with a strong sales history. You enjoy leading from the front and know how to motivate a team to succeed.

You will bring:

• A proven and successful track record in B2B sales
• Ideally a strong trade or industry background
• Experience managing small, close-knit teams
• High levels of self-motivation, drive, and initiative
• Strong communication skills and a customer-first mindset
