M****ōu | About you

This is a fixed-term, full-time position working 40 hours per week, based at our beautiful head office in Hamilton East. This fixed-term contract will conclude on 23 April 2027.

We're not a typical, regimented corporate IS department-we have fun and offer plenty of opportunities to learn and grow. As a Service Desk Technician, you'll provide first-line IS support to Wise Group staff, from frontline support workers to chief executives. Working in person and remotely, you'll offer practical hardware and software support, manage equipment and inventory, and deliver hardware solutions nationwide.

What you'll do

  • Deliver exceptional customer service as part of our helpdesk team
  • Help manage our hardware inventory
  • Implement hardware and software solutions
  • Uphold our commitment to workplace safety and diversity
  • Keep learning to help our IS team stay at the forefront of Information Technology developments and trends

While we offer flexible working arrangements, this role requires regular on-site presence due to its highly collaborative nature and close partnership with teams across the business. As such, the position cannot be performed remotely. You'll also be on-call every 11 weeks.

What you'll bring

There are some essential and preferred skills you'll need including:

  • knowledge of Windows 11
  • proven experience and success working in a customer service/customer facing role
  • exceptional written and oral communication
  • a qualification in Information Technology (preferred but not essential)

In addition:

  • attention to detail is one of your strengths, you like to double-check things or seek advice when you're not sure
  • you like making things better; you look for opportunities to improve and share them with the team
  • you see the glass half-full; you're a bit of an optimist
  • sweating the small stuff is not your style; you bring a sense of humour to work each day and get on and get the job done
  • having purpose is important to you; you want to make a positive impact on the world around you
  • you like being helpful and you take initiative and ownership in your work; no job is too small (or too big)

Applications close: Friday, 30th October 2026. We will consider candidates and arrange interviews as we receive applications, so the position may be filled before this date.
