What they need
About the role
We are seeking a technically minded and dependable Service & Applications Engineer to join our Thailand regional office in Pathum Thani. In this role, you will install, maintain, and support the advanced manufacturing and metrology equipment we supply to semiconductor, optics, electronics, and data storage manufacturers across Thailand, while working closely with our sales team to help customers choose and get the most out of the right tools. It is well suited to an engineer early in their career who is eager to learn; you will receive structured product training from our technology partners in Europe, the US, and Asia, along with on-the-job guidance from senior engineers across our regional offices.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on problem solver who is as comfortable on a customer's production floor as in a demo lab, and who can move easily between troubleshooting a tool, running a demonstration, and explaining results to a customer. Beyond the core service work, you should be willing to step in wherever the business needs support; from preparing technical input for quotations to coordinating spare parts deliveries and keeping service records up to date. This is a key role in our Thailand team: the uptime of our customers' equipment and the trust they place in Dymek depend directly on the quality of our engineering support, and you will see the impact of your work every day. We value reliability, ownership, and a curious, teachable mindset over rigid role boundaries.
Key responsibilities
- Installing, commissioning, and qualifying new equipment at customer sites in line with supplier procedures and customer acceptance criteria, including supporting installation planning, performance verification, and customer sign-off
- Performing scheduled preventive maintenance, calibration, and system upgrades, including verifying equipment performance and operational quality following service
- Diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and process issues on site or remotely, including investigating process variations and identifying potential causes related to equipment, facilities, or customer samples, and escalating to suppliers with clear technical reports when needed
- Responding promptly and professionally to customer service requests and equipment breakdowns, maintaining clear and courteous communication throughout the service process to minimize customer downtime
- Following up on unresolved technical issues with customers and suppliers, coordinating corrective actions, and tracking progress through to satisfactory resolution
- Managing spare parts requirements, including identifying parts, raising requests, and tracking orders through to delivery
- Preparing service reports, installation records, and field documentation after every visit
- Supporting the sales team with technical input during customer meetings, product presentations, and equipment evaluations
- Preparing and running equipment demonstrations, sample measurements, and application trials for prospective customers
- Attending product and service training provided by our technology partners, locally or overseas, and building expertise across our product portfolio
About you
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Physics, Materials Engineering, or a related field
- Fresh graduates are welcome to apply; 1 to 3 years of experience in field service, equipment maintenance, or applications within the semiconductor, optics, electronics, or data storage industry is a plus
- Solid grounding in electrical and mechanical systems, with the ability to read schematics, drawings, and technical manuals
- Exposure to metrology, optical inspection, vacuum, or wafer processing equipment is an advantage
- Comfortable with Microsoft Office and basic PC and network troubleshooting; familiarity with equipment control software, data analysis, or scripting is a bonus
- A methodical and safety conscious approach to troubleshooting; the ability to stay calm and organized under production pressure; and a proactive, adaptable, and teachable attitude
- Fluent in Thai with good working proficiency in written and spoken English
- Able to explain technical issues clearly to both engineers and non-technical customers
- Willing to travel frequently to customer sites across Thailand, particularly the industrial estates around Bangkok, Pathum Thani, Ayutthaya, and the Eastern Seaboard, with occasional overseas travel for training
- A valid Thai driving licence is preferred
