Service Engineer – Automation

We are seeking a highly motivated Service Engineer – Automation to support the delivery of automation services and projects for customers across Guatemala and the region. This role is responsible for service execution, customer support, project coordination, commissioning activities, lifecycle services, and technical consulting focused on industrial automation solutions.

The ideal candidate will work closely with customers, engineering teams, and stakeholders to ensure the successful execution of automation projects while maintaining high system availability, operational reliability, and customer satisfaction.

This position offers the opportunity to work with advanced automation technologies across both Process Industries and Discrete Manufacturing Industries , supporting modernization, migration, digitalization, and operational excellence initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Service Delivery & Customer Support

• Own end-to-end service delivery for assigned customers and automation projects.
• Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through proactive communication and technical support.
• Manage customer inquiries, technical issues, and escalations in a timely manner.
• Build and maintain strong customer relationships while identifying opportunities for service growth.

Project Execution & Lifecycle Services

• Monitor and coordinate automation service projects, upgrades, migrations, and modernization initiatives.
• Support project execution activities and ensure deliverables are completed on time and within scope.
• Participate in commissioning, troubleshooting, maintenance, and lifecycle service activities.
• Coordinate with engineering teams, customers, and internal stakeholders throughout project execution.

Automation Solutions & Technical Support

• Develop technical solution concepts based on customer requirements.

• Support implementation and maintenance of industrial automation solutions.

• Deliver services related to:

• Distributed Control Systems (DCS)

• Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC)

• SCADA Systems

• Human Machine Interfaces (HMI)

• Connectivity and Industrial Networks

Continuous Improvement

• Identify opportunities for operational improvement and modernization.
• Support customers throughout the lifecycle of automation solutions.
• Contribute to service business development by identifying customer needs and improvement opportunities.

Required Qualifications Education

• Bachelor’s Degree in:

• Electronics Engineering

• Instrumentation Engineering

• Electrical Engineering

• Automation Engineering

• Or a related technical discipline

Experience

• 5–10 years of experience in industrial automation, service engineering, commissioning, maintenance, or project execution.
• Experience supporting customers in industrial environments.
• Exposure to automation projects within Process Industries and/or Discrete Manufacturing Industries.
