Service Engineer

JOB SUMMARY

The Service Engineer is responsible for the operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimization of Deionized Water (DIW) systems and Wastewater Treatment Plants (WWTP). This role ensures system reliability, compliance with environmental regulations, and efficient plant performance for industrial water treatment processes.

KEY RESPONSIBILITES

1. Operation & Maintenance

·       Perform routine and preventive maintenance for DIW and WWTP systems (e.g., RO, EDI, UF, MB, filtration, chemical dosing systems).

·       Monitor system performance parameters such as conductivity, pH, turbidity, flow rate, pressure and etc

·       Ensure all equipment operates according to OEM standards and company SOPs.

·       Conduct regular system inspections and prepare maintenance reports.

2. Troubleshooting & Repair

·       Diagnose and resolve issues in water treatment systems, including piping, pumps, membranes, valves, and instrumentation.

·       Carry out corrective maintenance and emergency repairs at site.

·       Analyze root causes of system failures and implement preventive solutions.

3. Plant Performance Optimization

·       Optimize chemical dosing, energy usage, and system efficiency.

·       Improve system recovery rates (RO systems, DI polishing units).

·       Recommend upgrades or modifications to enhance performance.

---

4. Project & Installation Support

·       Support installation, commissioning, and startup of DIW and WWTP systems.

·       Assist in system upgrades, retrofits, and expansion activities.

·       Ensure proper documentation, testing, and handover to clients.

5. Compliance & Safety

·       Ensure compliance with environmental regulations (DOE Malaysia standards for effluent discharge).

·       Maintain proper documentation and reporting for audits.

·       Follow safety procedures and promote a safe working environment.

---

6. Client Support & Reporting

·       Provide technical support and consultation to customers.

·       Prepare service reports, maintenance logs, and performance analysis.

·       Communicate with clients on system status, issues, and recommendations.

Requirements

·       Minimum Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in: Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field

·       Experience in industrial DIW or water treatment systems preferred

·       Knowledge of RO, ion exchange, EDI, and water chemistry preferred

·       Familiarity with PLC/SCADA systems is an advantage.

·       Able to read P&ID and system schematics

·       Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and reporting skills

·       Good communication and coordination abilities

·       Exposure to chemicals, pressure systems, and mechanical equipment (with PPE)

·       On‑call or after‑hours technical support may be required
