Service Engineer

About the role

This is a Field Service Engineer position focused on troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing industrial machines and motion control systems. You will perform on-site diagnostic work, participate in machine retrofit projects using modern Siemens platforms, conduct commissioning of CNC and PLC systems, and provide preventive maintenance and customer support across industrial facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Perform on-site diagnostic, troubleshooting, and repair work on industrial machines and motion control systems to minimize customer downtime
• Diagnose and repair electrical issues, drives, CNC controllers, PLCs, and servo motors (including components like encoders, brakes, or bearings)
• Participate in retrofit projects for legacy machine tools and production machinery using modern Siemens platforms
• Assist in integrating new electrical, control, and mechanical systems (such as robotics, gantries, or production line automation)
• Conduct testing, parameter configuration, and commissioning of SINUMERIK CNC, SINAMICS Drives, and SIMATIC PLCs to ensure optimal machine performance according to project specifications
• Execute scheduled maintenance routines on customer equipment to prevent unexpected breakdowns and prolong system lifespan
• Provide basic technical guidance and training to client operators and maintenance teams following service or retrofit completion
• Prepare detailed field service reports, fault analysis notes, and spare parts recommendations
• Collaborate with internal System Engineering, Sales, and Project Management teams to address complex technical escalations

About you

• Diploma (D3) or Bachelor's Degree (S1) in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Industrial Automation
• Minimum 1–3 years of experience as a Service Engineer, Field Engineer, or Maintenance Engineer in industrial automation, CNC, or motion control
• Good understanding of the Siemens automation ecosystem (e.g., SINUMERIK CNC, SINAMICS Drives, SIMATIC PLC/HMI, or TIA Portal / STEP 7 software)
• Ability to read electrical wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical machine manuals
• Sound knowledge of mechatronic fundamentals (combining electrical controls with mechanical components like linear axes, spindles, and gearboxes)
• Strong analytical thinking and hands-on troubleshooting skills under field conditions
• Good communication and customer-service orientation
• Technical English proficiency (at least passive, capable of reading manuals and software error logs)
• Valid driving license (SIM A/C) and willingness to travel to customer sites/factories across industrial regions in Indonesia (e.g., Greater Jakarta, West Java, East Java, Batam, etc.)
