Service Engineer ( PCB, SMT )

About the role

WKK (Thailand) Limited is seeking a dedicated Service Engineer (YAMAHA SMT) to join our service&Support team in Bangkok. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in maintaining and supporting our surface mount technology (SMT) equipment operations. As a Service Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and uptime of YAMAHA SMT machines, providing both preventative maintenance and technical support to our production teams. This role is essential to our manufacturing operations and directly impacts our ability to deliver quality products to our customers.

Key responsibilities

1. Perform machine installation ,Calibration, routine preventative maintenance on YAMAHA SMT equipment to ensure consistent performance and minimise downtime
2. Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and electronic issues affecting SMT machine operations
3. Conduct repairs and replacements of defective components, parts, and assemblies in accordance with manufacturer specifications
4. Maintain comprehensive service records and documentation of all maintenance activities and technical interventions
5. Provide technical support and guidance to production staff on proper equipment operation and basic troubleshooting
6. Collaborate with production teams to identify equipment optimisation opportunities and operational improvements
7. Respond promptly to emergency breakdowns and service calls to restore equipment functionality
8. Stay updated on YAMAHA SMT equipment specifications, technical updates, and industry best practices
9. Assist in training and mentoring junior technicians on equipment maintenance and repair procedures

What we're looking for

1. Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering,Mechatronics Egineering or a related technical field

2. Proven experience (minimum 2-3 years) in servicing and maintaining SMT equipment or similar industrial machinery

3. Strong knowledge of YAMAHA SMT machines, their components, and operational specifications

4. Solid understanding of electrical and electronic systems, and troubleshooting methodologies

5. Proficiency in reading technical drawings, schematics, and maintenance manuals

6. Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and under pressure

7. Strong communication skills preferably English for technical documentation and international support

8. Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high safety and quality standards

9. Mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity for hands-on maintenance and repair work

10. Certification or formal training in SMT equipment servicing would be advantageous

11. Must have own car and driving licence
