Service Helper

Job Summary

We are seeking a proactive and dependable Service Helper to join our dynamic team! Responsibilities

• Support service technicians with appliance installation, repair, and maintenance tasks across residential and commercial settings.
• Assist with diagnosing issues using schematics and technical manuals to identify necessary repairs on HVAC systems, refrigeration units, and kitchen equipment.
• Operate company vehicles safely to transport tools, equipment, and parts to job sites.
• Help perform routine maintenance on mechanical systems, HVAC units, refrigeration equipment, and other mechanical systems to ensure optimal performance.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment by preparing work areas for repairs or installations.
• Follow safety protocols diligently during all tasks to ensure a secure work environment for yourself and colleagues.
• Communicate effectively with customers to explain work being performed and answer basic questions about equipment operation or maintenance.

Requirements

• Prior experience in appliance repair, HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning / Refrigeration), or mechanical systems repair is highly preferred.
• Basic understanding of schematics, technical manuals, and mechanical drawings.
• Mechanical knowledge related to HVAC systems, refrigeration units, kitchen equipment, and general appliance maintenance.
• Ability to operate construction tools and equipment safely; construction experience is a plus.
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally.
• Experience with maintenance, repair operations (MRO), and equipment repair is desirable.
• Valid driver’s license with the ability to operate company vehicles responsibly.
• Willingness to learn new technologies related to HVAC & appliance systems; leadership qualities are a bonus.
• Physical ability to perform manual tasks including lifting heavy objects, climbing ladders, and working in confined spaces.
