What they need

Join Our Leadership Team – Two Service Leader Opportunities

Adult Community Support Team and Child & Youth Community Support Team – both part time positions.

If you’re ready to lead with purpose, empower others, and help strengthen mental‑health and wellbeing in our communities, we’d love to hear from you.

We are seeking two people to join our leadership team. One within our Adult Community Support Service, and one within our Child & Youth Community Support Service. These roles offer the chance to balance meaningful practice with the opportunity to lead people, shape services, and contribute to the ongoing development of our organisation.

About the Roles

As a Service Leader, you will lead a dedicated team of support workers who walk alongside tāngata whaiora, young people, and whānau. You’ll help ensure our services are safe, effective, culturally responsive, and delivered in accordance with service specifications.

The role in the adult service requires nursing or allied health registration. Registration is not a requirement for the role in the child and youth service.

You’ll be part of a leadership team committed to caring for our people, innovation, and continuous improvement—working together to build services that truly make a difference.

What You’ll Bring

We’re looking for leaders who are:

  • Able to work collaboratively with members of the leadership team to develop and implement strategic priorities, drive service improvement initiatives, manage organisational change and achieve operational goals.
  • Skilled in developing, implementing and monitoring person-centred support plans for children, youth and adults experiencing mental health challenges.
  • Ability to facilitate regular reviews of support plans, ensuring services remain responsive to changing needs and desired outcomes.
  • Experience of building strong, trusting relationships.
  • Confident in leading services supporting tamariki, rangatahi and adults with complex needs.
  • Experienced in mental‑health, social services, disability support, or related fields.
  • Committed to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and culturally safe practice.
  • Organised, proactive, and able to balance operational needs with strategic thinking.
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed, strengths-based and person-centred approaches.

For the Adult Service we are Interested in applicants who are registered as:

  • Counsellors (NZAC) or Psychotherapists
  • Nurses
  • Occupational Therapists
  • Social Workers
  • Alcohol and Other Drug Practitioners (DAPAANZ)

For the Child and Youth Service we are interested in applications who have registration or have significant experience in leading services supporting tamariki and rangatahi.

Essential Attributes:

  • Be a strong communicator and natural relationship builder.
  • Have strong leadership, coaching, and performance management skills.
  • Believe in making a difference and delivering high‑quality support.
  • Experience within the social sector, health, wellbeing, education, community or NGO environments.
  • Proven leadership experience in health, mental health, or social services.
  • Understanding of trauma‑informed practice, mental health, neurodiversity and behavioural complexities.
  • Strong organisational, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • A genuine passion for improving outcomes for individuals, whānau, and communities.
  • A full driver’s licence.

This is an exciting opportunity. If you have the relevant qualifications and experience, we would like to hear from you.

Applicants must have a valid work visa, permanent residency or NZ citizenship to be considered.
