What they need

Service Manager – Brand New Supported Living Service

Elite Healthcare Solutions Ltd is looking for an experienced and motivated Service Manager to lead and develop our new supported living service in Reigate.

The service supports adults aged 18–65 with autism, learning disabilities and other complex needs, which may include mental health needs and behaviours that can challenge.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced manager who enjoys building and developing services. As a new service, we need someone who can take ownership of the day-to-day operation, establish a strong staff team, maintain high standards of care and support, and help the service grow safely.

The Role

As Service Manager, you will be responsible for the effective day-to-day management and development of Ashgrove. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading, supporting and developing the staff team.
  • Ensuring people receive safe, person-centred support that promotes choice, independence and quality of life.
  • Ensuring support plans, risk assessments and other care documentation are accurate and regularly reviewed.
  • Maintaining high standards in safeguarding, medication, incident management, record keeping and health and safety.
  • Completing audits and quality assurance checks and addressing any areas requiring improvement.
  • Managing staff rotas, sickness, absence, supervision and performance.
  • Ensuring staffing levels reflect the assessed needs of the people using the service.
  • Managing agency and overtime use appropriately.
  • Maintaining strong oversight of the service and escalating significant concerns appropriately.
  • Building positive relationships with families, social workers, commissioners, brokerage teams and other professionals.
  • Managing new referrals, completing assessments and ensuring proposed placements are appropriate and compatible with people already living at Ashgrove.
  • Proactively developing relationships with local authorities and professionals to support appropriate referrals and service growth.
  • Managing complaints, safeguarding concerns and incidents appropriately and ensuring lessons are learned.
  • Ensuring the service remains compliant with CQC requirements, company policies and relevant legislation.
  • Supporting the continued development and growth of the service while maintaining quality and safety.

About You

We are looking for someone who has real management experience within supported living or adult social care and is comfortable taking responsibility for a developing service.

You should have:

  • Previous management experience within supported living, learning disability, autism or a similar adult social care setting.
  • A Level 5 qualification in Leadership and Management for Adult Care, or an equivalent relevant qualification.
  • Good knowledge of CQC regulations and experience working within a CQC-regulated service.
  • Experience managing and developing staff teams.
  • A strong understanding of safeguarding, medication management, risk management and person-centred support.
  • Experience completing or overseeing support plans and risk assessments.
  • Confidence managing incidents, complaints and staff performance.
  • Experience working with social workers, commissioners and other professionals.
  • Good organisational, leadership and communication skills.
  • The confidence to make decisions and take accountability for the service.
  • An understanding of referrals, assessments and placement compatibility.
  • The ability to manage staffing and resources effectively while maintaining safe standards.

Experience supporting people with autism, learning disabilities and complex needs is essential.

What We Are Looking For

Because Ashgrove is a new and developing service, we are particularly interested in a manager who is hands-on, proactive and able to build a service, rather than someone who only wants to maintain an already established operation.

You should be comfortable developing a team, improving systems, engaging with commissioners and social workers, assessing new referrals and helping Ashgrove grow without compromising the safety or compatibility of placements.

You will need to be visible within the service and develop positive relationships with the people we support, staff, families and professionals.

Working Pattern

This is a 40-hour-per-week management position over 7 days, worked flexibly according to the needs of the service. Ashgrove operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, so some flexibility around evenings, weekends and participation in an on-call arrangement will be required.

Pay: £38,000.00-£40,000.00 per year

Work Location: In person
