Role Description The Service Manager role at United Rentals – Power & HVAC in Cincinnati, OH is a full-time, on-site position overseeing the daily operations of the service department. This role includes managing a team of technicians, coordinating maintenance and repair activities for power and HVAC equipment, and ensuring work orders are prioritized and completed efficiently. The Service Manager monitors equipment quality and safety standards, manages scheduling, and collaborates with sales and rental teams to support customer needs. Responsibilities also include inventory oversight, vendor coordination, documentation accuracy, and compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. The individual in this role will mentor staff, support training initiatives, and contribute to continuous improvement of service processes and customer experience.

Qualifications

• Service and operations management experience in equipment rental, power generation, HVAC, or a related technical field.
• Strong leadership abilities, including team supervision, coaching, performance management, and conflict resolution.
• Technical understanding of power generation, HVAC systems, or mechanical/electrical equipment sufficient to support diagnostics and repairs.
• Proficiency in planning and organizing work, managing schedules, and coordinating resources in a fast-paced environment.
• Effective communication and customer service skills to interact with internal teams, vendors, and clients.
• Basic proficiency with computer systems, service management software, and standard office applications.
• Commitment to workplace safety, regulatory compliance, and quality assurance standards.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical training, certifications, or a related degree are beneficial.
• Prior experience in a supervisory or managerial role within a service or maintenance department is preferred.
• Ability to work on-site in Cincinnati, OH and meet physical demands associated with inspecting equipment and shop operations.
