We have full-time opportunities and fixed term contracts available across Narangba, Bracken Ridge, Petrie Terrace, Ferny Hills and Nashville (Brighton). This is a great opportunity for experienced educators or group leaders, to progress and take the next step in their careers in leadership as an Assistant Service Manager. In these roles, you’ll play a critical part in delivering high-quality, values-driven services that support children, families, and communities while building a positive team culture. Please indicate the region which suits you best in the screening questions

At Jabiru, you’re never just doing a job - you’re part of a team creating change, building belonging and making a lasting difference in the lives of children and communities.

Join a team with inclusive leaders, collaborative teams, and a culture of care that lets you show up as your whole self, every day.

  • Access to a wide range of perks through the Employment Hero platform — including discounted movie tickets, gift vouchers, health insurance and more

About the Role

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Lead, mentor, and support a dedicated OSHC team, fostering collaboration, professional growth, and a respectful, inclusive workplace culture
  • Deliver high-quality OSHC programs that promote learning, wellbeing, and inclusion for all children
  • Ensure services comply with all legislation and regulations including the National Quality Standard (NQS) and relevant Jabiru policies and procedures
  • Oversee planning, rostering, and resourcing, ensuring the right staff are in the right place to meet operational and program needs
  • Conduct training, induction, and ongoing professional development for team members to strengthen skills, knowledge, and compliance with best practices
  • Build strong relationships with children, families, schools, and the community to enhance engagement and trust
  • Monitor and maintain service quality through audits, reflective practice, and continuous improvement initiatives, including Quality Improvement Plans
  • Promote and uphold child safety, wellbeing, and inclusion in all service operations
  • Manage operational, administrative, and reporting responsibilities, ensuring timely, accurate records and adherence to Jabiru policies

Who we’re looking for:

  • Diploma in School Age/Early Childhood Education & Care or other equivalent qualification as recognised by ACECQA
  • Relevant OSHC or Childcare experience with a commitment to ongoing professional development
  • Current QLD Blue Card, First Aid, CPR, Asthma, and Anaphylaxis certificates
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and develop a team
  • Ability to effectively plan and manage resources, including rostering and operational management
  • Knowledge of quality frameworks, compliance obligations, and best practice in OSHC
  • A values-led approach, demonstrating care, respect, collaboration, and integrity in all interactions
