Service Operation Engineer

About the role

Service Operations Engineer who bridges office-based engineering work and on-site project execution. This role is ideal for a Mechanical Engineer who enjoys a combination of site inspections, cost estimating, BOQ preparation, project coordination, and team supervision. As the company continues to grow, this position offers a strong opportunity to develop into a Project Management role.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct site inspections and field surveys to gather accurate measurements and assess actual site conditions
• Evaluate technical requirements and collect information needed for project planning and execution
• Identify potential site concerns and recommend practical engineering solutions
• Review mechanical, MEP, architectural, and technical drawings
• Prepare accurate Bills of Quantities (BOQ), material take-offs, and project cost estimates
• Assist in determining material, labor, equipment, and other project requirements
• Coordinate with suppliers and vendors regarding material specifications and quotations
• Monitor project schedules, milestones, and daily operational requirements
• Provide technical guidance and daily work direction to HVAC technicians and field personnel
• Coordinate professionally with clients, subcontractors, and internal departments

About you

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Registered Mechanical Engineer (RME) is preferred
• PME designation is an advantage
• At least 1–3 years of experience in HVAC, mechanical engineering, construction, site engineering, quantity surveying, or cost estimation
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical, MEP, architectural, and technical drawings
• Knowledge of BOQ preparation, material take-offs, and cost estimation
• Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Good organizational, communication, and coordination skills
• Ability to lead and work effectively with technicians and field personnel
• Willing to conduct site visits and travel to project locations when required
• Registered Mechanical Engineer (RME) is an advantage; PME designation is also preferred
• Familiarity with AutoCAD and other relevant engineering software is an advantage
