What they need

If you’re an experienced administrator who enjoys taking ownership, working with people and keeping a busy service environment organised, this could be the opportunity for you.

We’re looking for a Service Operations Administrator to join our Launceston team and play a key role in the day-to-day operation of our service department.

What you’ll be part of

Degree C is Tasmania’s leading multi-trade contractor, delivering a broad range of services across the state.

Our service teams support customers across commercial, industrial and residential environments, carrying out service, maintenance and installation work across a wide range of sites.

Based in our Launceston office, you’ll work closely with our service team, customers and suppliers, providing administrative support that is integral to the success of our service division.

There’s plenty happening at any one time, so this role will suit someone who enjoys responsibility, thinks ahead and takes pride in making sure things are followed through.

What you’ll actually be doing

Your day-to-day will include:

  • Creating, updating and managing service jobs within our ERP system
  • Responding to incoming customer calls, emails and service enquiries
  • Maintaining Degree C and customer-specific compliance records and documentation
  • Ensuring job information, records and supporting documentation are accurate and up to date
  • Following jobs through from initial enquiry to completion
  • Ordering, tracking and receipting parts required for upcoming work
  • Raising and managing purchase orders
  • Assisting Managers with scheduling and allocating daily service, maintenance and installation jobs
  • Assisting Managers with coordinating technician workloads and responding to changing priorities throughout the day
  • Providing administration and coordination support across the wider service department

Who we’re looking for

We’re looking for someone with strong experience in administration, scheduling or service coordination who is comfortable taking responsibility for an important part of a busy operation.

You’ll need to be organised, confident and able to manage competing priorities while keeping customers and the wider team informed.

This role will suit someone who likes being across the detail, can use their judgement when priorities change and takes ownership of making sure things get done. We’re advertising this as a full-time position, but we’re open to considering part-time hours for the right person where their experience and availability suit the needs of the role.

We’d love to hear from you if you have:

  • Strong experience in administration, scheduling, coordination or a similar role
  • Experience managing multiple jobs, priorities and deadlines at once
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills
  • Confidence making decisions and resolving day-to-day issues
  • Excellent communication and people skills
  • Confidence dealing with customers, technicians, suppliers and internal teams
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Experience working with ERP, job management or scheduling systems
  • Confidence using Microsoft Office and learning new software
  • A practical and solutions-focused approach
  • The ability to work independently, take ownership and follow things through
  • The confidence to communicate clearly and professionally with people at all levels of the business

Experience within a service, maintenance or logistics environment would be highly regarded.

Experience using MYOB or another ERP or job management system would also be beneficial.
