Compensation Data

$18.21 - $28.00 Hourly

Job Description As a Service Representative/Yard Material Handler , you will be responsible for receiving, storing, loading, and distributing building materials as well as providing outstanding service to walk-in and call-in customers. You will support day-to-day warehouse operations, ensure orders are processed and fulfilled accurately, and maintain a clean and organized yard and counter area. This role requires physical stamina, customer service skills, and attention to detail.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Pull and prepare customer orders for delivery or pickup.
• Operate forklift and other material handling equipment (training provided if needed).
• Load and unload materials safely, including heavy items up to 100 lbs.
• Ensure accurate inventory counts and material organization.
• Assist customers in person and over the phone with product inquiries, order placement, and issue resolution.
• Process quotes, orders, and returns accurately using point-of-sale and inventory systems.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety in the yard and sales area.
• Communicate with internal teams and vendors to coordinate deliveries or product availability.
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
• May be required to drive company vehicles (if qualified) to support deliveries.

Job Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous warehouse, yard, or retail customer service experience preferred.
• Forklift experience and certification preferred (can train).
• Ability to lift 100 pounds repeatedly throughout the shift.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Must be reliable and punctual.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with POS systems preferred.
• Must be able to work in all weather conditions and in a physically demanding environment.
• Bilingual a plus but not required.
