Driven by our mission “Leading with Integrity, Innovating with Purpose, Prioritising Sustainability,” we design, manufacture and service high-performance cremators trusted in over 20 countries worldwide. With more than 140 years of engineering heritage and a strong commitment to safety, quality and continuous improvement, we are proud to set the standard in our field.

About the Role

We are seeking a Service Technician to join our Australian service team, based in Brisbane, supporting customers across Queensland and wider Australia as required.

This is a hands-on, field-based role responsible for the servicing, maintenance, repair and commissioning of cremation and incineration systems. As a Service Technician, you will be the on-site representative of Facultatieve Technologies, trusted to deliver safe, professional and reliable service to our customers.

This role would suit an experienced field service engineer, or a site-based mechanical or electrical engineer looking to step into a mobile role with a stable, well-established global business.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Carrying out planned servicing, preventative maintenance and inspections in line with company procedures and manufacturer standards
  • Diagnosing faults and responding to reactive breakdowns to minimise customer downtime
  • Completing accurate service reports, inspections and technical documentation in a timely manner
  • Installing, commissioning and testing equipment and components where required
  • Liaising with Service Managers and technical specialists to resolve complex technical issues
  • Managing site access requirements, permits and customer expectations while working on client premises
  • Maintaining tools, equipment and company vehicles in a safe and serviceable condition
  • Building strong working relationships with customers and acting as a trusted technical representative of the business

Health, Safety & Compliance

Health and safety is a core part of this role. You will be expected to:

  • Comply at all times with company Health & Safety policies and Australian Work Health and Safety (WHS) legislation
  • Conduct site-specific risk assessments and follow safe systems of work
  • Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and apply safe working practices on all sites
  • Report hazards, near misses, incidents and unsafe conditions promptly
  • Ensure all work is carried out in line with environmental, safety and regulatory requirements
  • Stop work where conditions are unsafe and escalate concerns in line with company procedures

What We’re Looking For

Essential:

  • Trade qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)
  • Proven experience in a service, maintenance, manufacturing or industrial engineering environment
  • Strong fault-finding, diagnostic and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a field-based role
  • Strong communication skills with a professional, customer-focused approach
  • Current Australian driver’s licence

Desirable:

  • Dual trade skills (mechanical and electrical)
  • Experience with combustion systems, gas systems, industrial plant or heavy equipment
  • Previous field service or remote working experience
  • Experience working in regulated or safety-critical environments
  • Working Conditions
  • Field-based role with travel across Queensland and interstate as required
  • Occasional travel for training, recruitment or compliance purposes

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary aligned to experience (AUS $85,000 - $100,000)
  • Superannuation
  • Company vehicle and tools
  • Structured onboarding, training and technical support
  • The opportunity to work for a global engineering business with a strong commitment to safety, sustainability and innovation

Facultatieve Technologies is committed to building a diverse and inclusive workplace where everyone feels respected, supported and able to do their best work. We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds and experiences, and value the contribution each individual brings to our business.
