What they need

Service Technician – Auckland

  • NZ owned and operated company
  • South Auckland office base
  • Be part of an exciting growth phase
  • Base salary $60 - $80K based on experience, company vehicle and tools of trade

Chemical Solutions Ltd is a multi-sector chemical cleaning and speciality product manufacturer, particularly well known for its Kemsol brand. CSL is proudly NZ owned and operated, with roots firmly fixed on a kiwi-can-do approach and genuine passion for innovation and creativity.

We have more than thirty years' experience manufacturing quality chemicals for a cleaner environment.  With over 30 national distributors, we also export to a number of countries from Chile to Sri Lanka.  What sets us apart?  High quality, functional products and an absolute focus on customer service, with a genuine belief that people are the company's most important asset.  The business has grown substantially in terms of customer base and profitability, but the core values remain unchanged.

As a result of continuing growth, we have an opportunity for a Service Technician to join our team in our Chemserv division, servicing customers across the North Island from our base in South Auckland.  Training and mentoring will be provided on the industry, products and customers.

The role involves: -

  • Providing exceptional technical and service support to customers
  • Understanding their businesses and challenges and providing a high level of service to ensure they remain compliant
  • Preparing service reports, conducting site audits, servicing and installations to a high standard
  • Building strong relationships with customers, exceeding their expectations and demonstrating the company values in all interactions
  • Providing training on products, procedures and equipment, and working alongside customers to solve their problems
  • Using problem solving skills to conduct preventative and corrective maintenance at customer sites
  • Monthly trips out of town overnight, 1-2 days at a time.

Who would be right for this role?

This role would suit someone who is a practical, hands-on thinker with a strong can‑do attitude and a natural ability to solve problems. You should be comfortable working with tools and enjoy taking an active approach to tackling day‑to‑day challenges.

Whilst not essential, a background in a food processing environment, food service, industrial laundry, or a similar industry would be highly advantageous.

Above all, we are looking for someone who is reliable, proactive, and willing to learn.

What else is required?

As well as the above, this role requires:

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Exceptional organisation, planning and time management skills with the ability to plan days/weeks/months in advance to maximise efficiency
  • A high level of professionalism and a track record of positive working relationships and delighted customers
  • The ability to self-motivate with a proactive approach and the ability to create positive outcomes and growth
  • Good attention to detail in reporting, follow up and follow through
  • A team player approach with a "can do" attitude and the desire to make a positive difference
  • A minimum of intermediate computer skills (Word and Excel with SAP an advantage)
  • A valid full NZ driver's license
  • The ability to lift 25kg and skills to carry out maintenance and installation tasks

This role is available immediately, so applicants must currently reside and be legally entitled to work in NZ.

As part of our commitment to health and safety, we operate a random drug testing programme.

This role represents an exciting opportunity to develop your career in a successful, innovative and growing business.  For more information, please check out our website at www.chemicalsolutions.co.nz and www.kemsol.co.nz. To submit an application, please select "apply now".
