SERVICE TECHNICIAN

1. Installation & Commissioning

Install, test, and commission equipment, machinery, electrical/instrumentation systems and related components.

2. Perform functional testing and ensure equipment operates according to specifications.

3. Maintenance & Repair

Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance.

Diagnose equipment faults and perform troubleshooting and repairs.

4. Replace defective components, parts, wiring, sensors, instruments, or other equipment as required.

5. Troubleshooting

Investigate technical problems and identify root causes.

Use appropriate testing equipment and diagnostic tools.

6. Escalate complex technical issues to the Supervisor/Engineer when necessary.

7. Site Service & Customer Support

Attend customer sites for service calls, breakdowns, inspections, and technical support.

8. Communicate professionally with customers and provide updates on work progress.

9. Explain equipment problems, repairs, and operating procedures to customers where required.

10. Inspection & Testing

Conduct routine inspections and performance checks.

11. Record equipment conditions, test results, defects, and corrective actions.

12. Documentation & Reporting

Prepare service reports, maintenance records, inspection checklists, and job completion reports.

13. Maintain accurate records of spare parts and materials used.

14. Submit reports and supporting documents within the required timeframe.

15. Safety & Compliance

Follow company HSE policies, procedures, Permit to Work (PTW), JSA/RA, and site safety requirements.

16. Use appropriate PPE and ensure safe working practices at all times.

17. Report unsafe conditions, incidents, and equipment defects immediately.

18. Tools & Spare Parts

Maintain and properly use company tools, testing instruments, and equipment.

19. Ensure tools and instruments are in good working condition and properly calibrated where applicable.

20. Monitor spare parts requirements and inform the supervisor when replenishment is required.

21. Technical Support

Assist Engineers and Supervisors during troubleshooting, testing, commissioning, and project activities.

22. Support improvement and modification works when required.

23. Keep up to date with relevant technical knowledge, equipment manuals, and procedures.

24. Other Duties

Perform other technical and operational duties assigned by the Supervisor/Manager.

25. Be willing to travel to customer/project sites and work outside normal hours when required for breakdown or emergency support.
