What they need
A Technician (Lead / Master Tech) — World of Powersports Springfield
World of Powersports is a four-store powersports dealer group in Central Illinois: Decatur, Springfield, Peoria and Champaign. We sell and service ATVs, side-by-sides, motorcycles and personal watercraft. Our Springfield store at 3230 Atlanta St is hiring an A Technician to be the top tech in the shop.
This job is for the tech the rest of the shop comes to with the hard ones. You'll take on the toughest diagnostics, set the standard for quality, and help bring the newer techs along. You're paid for your time on the clock and for every hour you bill, so the more productive you are, the more you make.
PAY
Hourly pay for clocked time, plus pay for every billed hour, with a higher rate as billed hours climb. Paid bi-weekly. Paid vacation, holidays and training.
SCHEDULE
Tuesday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM, in by 8:30 AM for the morning shop meeting. In person.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Diagnose and repair ATVs, side-by-sides, motorcycles and personal watercraft: engine, drivetrain, electrical, fuel and EFI, suspension and more.
- Take the hard jobs. Handle the complex diagnostics, comebacks and warranty repairs the rest of the shop can't crack.
- Document every repair order. Write a clear resolution on every job line, and a recommendation on every RO, even if it's "No recommendations." Note any repair the customer declines.
- Recommend the work that makes sense. If the wheels are already off, spot the related job and recommend it at reduced labor so the customer doesn't have to come back.
- Support warranty. Diagnose and document so the claim gets paid. The writer and manager file it.
- Lead in the shop. Help train and mentor B and C techs, and QC other techs' work when the Service Manager asks.
- Do setups and PDIs on new units so they leave the store right, and install accessories customers buy from Parts.
- Stay current on warranty policies, safety recalls and OEM service training.
- Keep your bay, tools and the shop clean, organized and safe.
