As Canada's trusted safety partner since 1935, we work alongside customers coast to coast to help ensure people return home safely at the end of every shift.

Are you mechanically inclined and looking for a hands-on career where you can build your technical skills while working directly with customers?

Levitt-Safety is looking for a Service Technician - Fire Suppression to join our team in Saskatoon. In this field-based role, you’ll service and maintain vehicle fire suppression systems (VFSS) and other Fire & Life Safety equipment at customer sites.

You don't need previous fire suppression experience - we’re open to training the right person who has strong mechanical aptitude, a willingness to learn, and a safety-first mindset.

What You'll Do

  • Inspect, service, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain vehicle fire suppression systems and other Fire & Life Safety equipment
  • Perform inspections and testing in accordance with applicable standards and manufacturer requirements
  • Identify deficiencies and provide clear recommendations for corrective action and ongoing maintenance
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and basic electrical issues using hand and power tools
  • Deliver site-specific training to customers and end users
  • Complete accurate service reports, inspection documentation, and digital records
  • Build strong relationships with customers and provide professional, reliable service
  • Represent Levitt-Safety as the face of the company at customer sites
  • Work independently in the field while managing your schedule and priorities

What We're Looking For

  • Mechanically inclined with a strong interest in hands-on technical work
  • Experience working with vehicles, heavy equipment, industrial equipment, agricultural equipment, or in a mechanical/shop environment is an asset
  • Basic electrical knowledge and mechanical aptitude
  • Comfortable using hand and power tools
  • Experience or training in fire protection, fire suppression, or related systems is an asset
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Comfortable using mobile devices, technology, and digital reporting tools
  • Able to work independently, troubleshoot problems, and manage priorities in the field
  • Valid driver's license and clean driver's abstract
  • Willing and able to complete required pre-employment and periodic drug/alcohol testing and criminal background checks
  • A willingness to learn and develop new technical skills

No fire suppression experience? No problem. If you have strong mechanical skills and the right attitude, we'll provide the training you need to succeed.

What We Offer

  • Monday–Friday schedule
  • Competitive salary based on experience and qualifications
  • Paid training and support for required certifications
  • On-call premiums, where applicable
  • Comprehensive group benefits including medical, dental, vision, EAP, and RRSP matching
  • Profit-sharing opportunities
  • Company-provided service vehicle, tools, and equipment
  • Paid expenses for required out-of-town business travel
  • Paid vacation and additional time-away benefits
  • A supportive team environment where your safety, development, and success matter

Physical & Safety Requirements

This is a field-based, safety-sensitive role. You’ll be expected to:

  • Maintain a strong safety-focused mindset and follow all company, customer, and regulatory requirements
  • Complete inspections accurately and submit all required service reports and documentation on time
  • Identify and communicate safety concerns, equipment deficiencies, and required corrective actions
  • Work safely around vehicles, heavy equipment, and industrial environments, including confined spaces and elevated work areas
  • Safely use hand and power tools and lift/carry equipment as required
