Service Technician - Forklift (5years + Experience)

Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Forklift Service (Technician) Manager to lead our maintenance and repair operations for a diverse fleet of industrial and construction equipment (Forklift). In this vital role, you will oversee the servicing, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance of forklifts, heavy machinery, and related equipment to ensure optimal performance, safety, and compliance. Your expertise will drive efficiency across our operations, support customer satisfaction, and uphold the highest standards of equipment reliability. This position offers an exciting opportunity for a motivated leader with extensive mechanical knowledge and hands-on experience in equipment diagnostics and repair. Must know how to fix forklift issues and problems

Duties

• Manage daily service operations for forklift maintenance, repairs, and inspections, ensuring timely turnaround and minimal downtime
• Supervise a team of technicians specializing in diesel engine diagnostics, electrical systems, hydraulics, welding, and general mechanical repairs
• Coordinate with OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) parts suppliers to ensure availability of quality components for repairs and fabrication projects
• Conduct thorough troubleshooting using schematics, electrical diagnostics, and mechanical knowledge to identify issues with forklifts, cranes, excavators, tractors, and other heavy equipment
• Oversee safety compliance procedures related to equipment servicing, including air brake systems, suspension components, tire service, and hydraulic systems
• Implement preventative maintenance schedules to extend equipment lifespan and improve operational efficiency
• Maintain detailed records of service activities, parts inventory, repair logs, and compliance documentation
• Ensure all work adheres to industry standards for heavy equipment operation and safety regulations

Experience

• Proven dealership experience with heavy machinery or construction equipment servicing preferred
• Extensive hands-on experience with fabrication, welding, electrical diagnostics, automotive diagnostics, and troubleshooting heavy equipment
• Strong mechanical knowledge of transmissions, diesel engines (including diesel engine repair), HVAC systems on machinery, and power tools used in repairs
• Familiarity with schematics for electrical systems and hydraulic diagrams essential for accurate diagnostics
• Experience managing maintenance teams or service departments in a fast-paced environment
• Knowledge of construction machinery maintenance including cranes, excavators, forklifts, tractors-trailers and farm machinery is highly desirable
• Demonstrated ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining high-quality workmanship
• Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with clients regarding repairs and maintenance needs
