Service Technician I

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs setup, testing, and modular level repair to a specific SATO printer model.

Maintains accurate records for individual repairs.

Uses custom software testing suites to diagnose/validate hardware failure.

Recognizes failures and determines appropriate action.

Uses equipment such as a voltmeter, computer, and special test fixtures.

Maintains production and quality output standards.

Perform all other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma or GED preferred but not required.

Less than 1 year of experience in a similar position.

Experience with electronic repair, retail electronics, and appliances.

Able to follow and understand work instructions.

Works well with others

General math and computer skills.

Prior use of various hand tools.

Some knowledge of computers and test equipment is required.

Manual dexterity and visual coordination are required.

At a minimum, the incumbent must be able to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Hand dexterity is necessary to feel surfaces, work in close areas with fingers, and handle small objects. Must regularly lift and/or move objects up to 60 pounds and heavier items with assistance. Ability to communicate verbally and hear easily, focus on objects, and have good vision and color perception.

The incumbent will perform basic functionality tests and troubleshooting to meet acceptable repair specifications. Also responsible for using established procedures and work instructions to meet production goals and troubleshoot printers.
