Service Technician (Marine)

About the Role

We are looking for a hands-on Service Technician to join our regional Service Team. You will be involved in the inspection, installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair and overhaul of mechanical equipment used in marine and industrial applications.

This is a field-based role where you will work at shipyards, onboard vessels, customer sites and industrial facilities in Singapore and occasionally overseas. Training will be provided, so candidates with limited experience who have a strong interest in mechanical servicing are welcome to apply.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform inspection, troubleshooting, maintenance, repair, installation and overhaul of mechanical equipment.
• Carry out hands-on service work at shipyards, vessels, customer premises and industrial sites.
• Work with equipment such as couplings, propeller shafts, machinery mounts, brakes, backstops and fluid couplings.
• Take measurements and identify mechanical issues during service assignments.
• Prepare service reports, inspection findings and technical documentation.
• Coordinate service jobs and work orders to ensure timely completion.
• Liaise with customers and provide technical support when required.
• Work closely with internal teams and overseas stakeholders on service activities.
• Support warehouse activities, including inventory control and equipment housekeeping.
• Travel locally and overseas when required, including short-notice assignments.
• Follow all workplace safety requirements and company procedures.

Requirements

• Experience in marine, mechanical, industrial, engineering, maintenance or service environments is preferred.
• Hands-on mechanical troubleshooting and maintenance experience is an advantage.
• Experience with diesel engines, marine gearboxes, propulsion systems, generators or rotating equipment will be beneficial.
• Strong English communication skills, particularly written English, as the role requires regular report writing and documentation
• Ability to read technical drawings and service manuals is an advantage.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• SAP or other ERP experience is an advantage.
• Valid Singapore Class 3 Manual Driving Licence.
• Willing to work at shipyards, onboard vessels, industrial sites and outdoor environments.
• Willing to travel overseas on short notice when required.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Self-motivated, hands-on and able to work independently as well as in a team.
