Zimmerman Truck Repairs, Inc. is looking for a motivated, organized, and customer-focused Service Writer to join our team in Mifflintown, PA.

As a Service Writer, you’ll play a key role in keeping our shop running efficiently and our customers informed. You’ll serve as an important connection between customers, drivers, technicians, and shop management while helping coordinate repairs from initial write-up through final invoicing.

We provide professional truck repair and maintenance services for the Zimmerman Truck Lines fleet as well as outside customers, and we’re looking for someone who takes pride in providing excellent service and keeping work organized and moving forward.

What You’ll Do

• Greet customers and drivers with professionalism and a positive attitude
• Prepare accurate and detailed repair orders
• Open, review, update, and close repair orders
• Assist with preparing repair estimates
• Prepare customer invoices
• Schedule service appointments and coordinate incoming work
• Keep customers informed about repair status, timelines, and updates
• Respond to customer questions by phone, email, and text
• Prepare and process warranty claims
• Maintain accurate service and repair documentation
• Work closely with the GM of Maintenance and shop Foremen to help maintain an efficient flow of work through the facility
• Help ensure customers receive a professional, responsive experience from arrival through completion of their repairs

What We’re Looking For

• At least 1 year of Service Writer experience or relevant experience in the diesel, truck, automotive, or equipment repair industry
• Diesel or automotive technician experience is also welcomed and can be a strong fit for this position
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced shop environment
• Strong computer skills
• A self-starter who can work independently while contributing to a team
• Valid Pennsylvania driver’s license and ability to meet company auto insurance requirements

Compensation

$40,000–$60,000 per year, based on experience, plus additional bonus opportunities.
