Duties

• Greet customers warmly, listen attentively to their vehicle or equipment concerns, and accurately document service requests.
• Prepare detailed repair orders using heavy duty estimating software, ensuring clarity and transparency for clients.
• Collaborate closely with technicians, parts, and owner to understand vehicle and equipment issues such as but not limited to engine and transmissions, brakes, suspension, alignments, tire services, shocks & struts, air brakes, and oil changes.
• Provide professional recommendations for upselling services like additional maintenance to enhance customer satisfaction and shop revenue.
• Communicate effectively with clients regarding vehicle diagnostics, repair progress, and estimated completion times.
• Manage invoicing processes accurately while maintaining detailed service records.
• Assist in promoting services through proactive client communication and sales efforts related to heavy duty sales and maintenance packages.

Skills

• Proven experience as a Service Writer or in diesel service management within a dealership or repair shop environment.
• Strong mechanical knowledge of heavy duty systems including transmissions, suspension, brakes, tires, oil changes, mechanical repairs.
• Proficiency with estimating software and computer-aided vehicle damage estimating tools.
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate complex technical information clearly and professionally.
• Ability to upsell services confidently while maintaining integrity and customer trust.
• Familiarity with heavy duty diagnostics and repair procedures across various vehicle makes and models.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; CDL is required.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
