Duties

• Greet customers warmly, listen carefully to their vehicle concerns, and document their needs with precision.
• Write detailed service orders, accurately estimating repair costs using estimating software and mechanical knowledge.
• Communicate effectively with technicians to relay diagnostic findings and ensure timely completion of repairs.
• Identify opportunities for upselling additional services such as oil changes, tire rotations, brake repairs, suspension work, shocks & struts, transmissions, and collision repairs.
• Manage client communication throughout the repair process, providing updates and explaining recommended services clearly.
• Handle cash transactions and process payments efficiently while maintaining accurate records.
• Promote dealership services by suggesting maintenance plans or additional repairs that benefit the customer’s vehicle longevity.

Experience

• Prior experience as a Service Writer or in auto service management within a dealership or independent shop environment.
• Strong mechanical knowledge of automotive diagnostics, vehicle maintenance procedures, and repair processes.
• Proficiency with estimating software and computer-aided vehicle damage estimating tools.
• Hands-on experience with automotive repair specialties such as brake repair, tire service, shocks & struts, transmissions, oil changes, suspension work, and collision repair.
• Excellent client communication skills with a focus on customer service excellence.
• Sales experience with upselling techniques to enhance revenue opportunities.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record to support dealership operations.
