Service Writer

Applicant acts as the primary liaison between boat owners and the service department. They translate customer concerns into detailed technical work orders, coordinate schedules with technicians, manage parts and warranties, and ensure a seamless service experience. Core Responsibilities- Customer Intake & Communication

• Greet customers and document their boat or water vehicle service needs.
• Conduct walk-around inspections of vessels and check for any manufacturer recalls.
• Provide regular updates to clients regarding repair status, timelines, and changes to estimates.
• Answer inquiries about marine services, routine maintenance schedules, and parts availability.

Service Administration & Coordination

• Create detailed work orders and service estimates based on customer concerns and technician diagnoses.
• Schedule service appointments and efficiently manage the technician workflow queue.
• Translate technical diagnostic data from marine technicians into clear language for the customer.

Sales & Warranty Management

• Upsell additional services, seasonal maintenance packages (like winterization), and parts based on boat conditions and manufacturer recommendations.
• Verify warranty coverage prior to starting repairs and process factory or aftermarket warranty claims.
• Coordinate vendor communications for outsourced components or specialized parts orders.
• Process invoices, manage internal billing, and handle payments upon completion of the work.

Pay: $21.00 - $33.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
