Help Wanted: Service Writer- Andy Wurm Tire & Wheel Company (Ferguson, MO)

Hours:
8 am - 5 pm, Monday through Friday, No weekends!

Job Overview
We are seeking a professional and customer-focused Service Writer to join our automotive service team. The ideal candidate will serve as the primary point of contact for customers, accurately documenting vehicle issues, recommending necessary repairs, and ensuring a smooth flow of communication between technicians and clients. This role requires a strong understanding of automotive systems and excellent customer service skills to deliver a positive experience. Prior automotive experience and familiarity with auto service management are highly valued. Valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers promptly and professionally, gathering detailed descriptions of vehicle concerns.
• Write clear, detailed service orders and repair estimates based on customer input and technician diagnoses.
• Communicate effectively with technicians regarding repair needs.
• Manage vehicle repair timelines and keep customers informed about progress.
• Handle customer inquiries regarding vehicle maintenance needs such as vehicle maintenance schedules.
• Assist in managing auto estimating processes and coordinate with parts suppliers.
• Maintain a high level of customer service to foster repeat business and positive reviews.

Experience

• Automotive experience or auto service management background preferred.
• Proven experience in auto service writing or automotive diagnostics.
• Knowledge of mechanical systems including transmissions, brake systems, suspension, tire services, shocks & struts, alignments, ect.
• Experience in mechanic work or service technician roles is advantageous.
• Strong sales skills with the ability to effectively maintain customer trust.
• Familiarity with automotive repair processes and parts inventory management.
